In the Galapagos, there were so many memorable experiences on islands or snorkeling and seeing the myriad of wildlife that are so comfortable with human presence.
The professional Galapagos guides/naturalists attached to our boat added tremendous value!
At Machu Picchu, the historic and spiritual aspects of the site, coupled with the engineering, construction, and agricultural features, all helped to make the visit amazing.
And on a more practical note: Most of the trip in Peru is at altitudes near 3,000-4,000 meters (10,000-14,000 feet); therefore, pre-trip conditioning and prescribed altitude sickness medication makes for a more comfortable adaptation and experience.
